Thinking of Spring

A little floral painting for you today as I’m thinking of Spring.

Happy Thursday friends! 😊

I love the combination of pinks and greens together in this painting. 💗

Supplies used
watercolor paper 140 lb.
watercolor brushes, round 12, liner 2, and dagger 1/4″

Watercolors
Daniel Smith:  green gold, permanent green, quinacridone magenta, quinacridone rose, and yellow ochre
Winsor & Newton: cerulean blue

Using the wet on wet technique, I painted shapes in clean water first then dropped in wet paint. The dagger brush was used to make some nice leaf shapes. I left white space on many leaves and didn’t fuss with the shapes.

Tips
–  Allowing the paint to mix and mingle on the paper creates some nice results.
–  Keep a tissue on hand for those times when you drop too much water on your paper.
