Watercolor birdies in different styles

A few cute little birdies in different watercolor styles for you today. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I’m always inspired by the birds at my backyard feeder. I hope these little paintings leave you smiling.

Happy Sunday, friends! ๐Ÿ’™

A little line and wash birdie.ย  I like the cute little shape of this guy and the loose background and branch.

A different style with much less detail. I like the simplicity and nice water marks in this one.

This style started with colorful under painting with direct watercolor, no lines or ink to start.

Allowing myself to just play here. I started thinking that this might be a flop… but then remembered that this is practice and that is how we grow and learn.

Continuing on I thought that doodle sketching on top would be fun.

I added lots of leaves and some needed detail to my bird with a Micron pen.

I wasn’t thrilled with the color of my bird when I was finished. A little splash of additional color was a good choice. Much better now.

Three different styles, which do you like best?

I hope you are inspired to create art and do more of what you love.

Until next time, share a smile and have a great week!
