Floral ink sketching

floral ink sketch

A little look into my sketchbook today to see a few recent florals that I’ve been working on.

Happy Sunday, friends! πŸ’š

A little practice trying to compose a pleasing floral design.

Some elements are simple while others are more detailed.

In this sketch, I tried to add more variation in the size and shape of the flowers and leaves.

Tucking elements behind one another was like putting together a puzzle. Including a few peekaboo flowers here and there was really good practice. 🌸

I started this sketch building from the center with flowers and working my way out. Then I filled in the white space with vines and leaves to balance things out. I always like having a few vines at the top waving hello.

I really like this one, it makes me happy.Β πŸ’š

I hope you are inspired to create art and do more of what you love. Thank you for stopping by and following me on this creative journey.

Until next time, share a smile and shine on!

      1. Did you get the flower one? I’m so glad you like it too! Such great illustrations, it has helped me to really break down plants and flowers into shapes. πŸŒ·πŸ’•

      2. I got the one with flowers, leaves, cacti, succulents, and other items in nature. It arrived last week, thanks so much for the great recommendation!
