Lemon Lime watercolor leaves

lemon lime watercolor leaves painting

I have a painting to share that was inspired by a recent trip to Longwood Gardens.

Happy Thursday, friends!Β πŸ’š

I started off with a bright underpainting of loose leaves.

The punch of lemon lime in this painting makes me so happy. πŸ˜€

I’ve had quite the obsession with leaves lately and just had to paint these beauties.

I used more paint and less water to keep the colors bold. To finish things off I added a little ink sketching for some fun and definition.

I hope you are inspired to create art and do more of what you love. Thank you for stopping by and following me on this creative journey. Until next time, share a smile and stay excellent!

  1. Hi Patty Anne, I went to a gardening center recently and discovered some new and interesting plants. Love the colors of greens in these leaves and how you painted them! 🎨🌿🌼

I’m still having fun with leaves. 😊
I love buying new plants too. Last weekend I bought a few Lupine flowers for my garden. I’m hoping they do well. πŸ’šπŸ’œ πŸ˜€

      1. A mix of red, yellow, and orange. Not sure about the name, I didn’t save the label. 😊 I think Jean Haines has a few beautiful examples of painting them in a loose style in her books.
