I planted some lavender in the garden this week. Oh my, the scent was just divine. Today I have a lavender inspired painting to share with you.
Happy Thursday, friends!Β π
For this painting I used my travel watercolors. Things were looking pretty good but I realized it needed more color after looking at the photo above.
It’s important to know when to stop painting but also when it’s time to go back in.
I bumped up the purple and greens and darkened the colors a little.
Ahh, yes much better. π
Additional leaves were also added with my liner brush. Some brush strokes were made by dragging the side of the brush across the paper.Β Others were made with a light touch moving the tip of the brush on the page. It’s a simple thing but it really adds movement and some nice variation.
I hope you are inspired to create art and do more of what you love.
Until next time, share a smile and stay excellent!

Lavender is one of my favorite flowers. Your painting is delightful. I’m working on a lavender watercolor myself, right now!
