I recently took a watercolor and ink class on SkillShare by Yasmina Creates. The botanical doodling class was so much fun, I couldn’t wait to give it a try.
Happy Sunday, friends!Β π
I started with a loose watercolor underpainting. I painted many different flower and leaf shapes making sure to leave a lot of white space.
Materials used:
Canson watercolor paper 140# (a smooth paper surface)
Daniel Smith watercolors
Micron pens, various sizes
When my painting dried, I doodled flowers and leaves all over it with my micron pens.
I like this method of doodling on top of watercolor, it’s so simple and fun!
I feel free to let loose and play.
When it’s the other way around, doodle first then add watercolor, I think I tighten up. I have a harder time painting outside the lines. It feels better when I draw outside the paint.Β πΒ Maybe with more time and experience that will change.
I really like how this one turned out. The roses make me so happy. πΈπ
I hope you enjoy seeing my work and are inspired to create art and do what you love. Thank you for stopping by and following me on this creative journey.
Until next time, share a smile and shine on!
