Playing with patterns and shapes, I had fun working on this tree doodle. I took my time and it slowly came together over a few evenings.
Happy Thursday! ππ
Using a micron pen, I sketched out a tree and created a bunch of sections to doodle in.
A meditative art with no rules or mistakes. I move forward not worrying about the final result. That feels so good.Β βΊοΈ
Next step, filling in more sections and trying out different patterns.
I didn’t work from top to bottom or side to side.
I used a few of the same patterns and jumped around in an attempt to spread things out on the tree top.
I fell in love with a weave pattern and thought it would provide some texture on the trunk. I like that it seems to guide your eye upward into the tree top. π
A little shading at the end to finish up.
Lesson learned, using a pencil for the shading is a good idea. Shading with the micron pen was difficult and caused a few areas to get much darker than desired.
I hope you are inspired to create art and do what you love. Thank you for stopping by and following me on this creative journey.
Happy Painting!
